  For folks with those issues, Threads federation is a reasonably big step towards being able to maintain an account on Mastodon (or one other fediverse service) and nonetheless discover the folks they wish to work together with-assuming some of those persons are on Threads and never only on Bluesky, Twitter/X, Instagram, and all the other non-ActivityPub-powered methods.
